Ventnor Rugby Football Club Statement 14 January 2026
Ventnor RFC can confirm that it has stepped in to support Ventnor Football Club with the temporary appointment of a new Chairman until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Following the recent departure of First Team Manager and Chairman Gary Gee, the club was made aware of the limited time available to appoint a replacement in order for fixtures to continue to be fulfilled.

To help provide stability during a challenging period, Ventnor RFC felt it was important to offer support.
An internal meeting was held on 13th January, attended by players, staff and members of the Ventnor community, to discuss the future of the club and its three teams.
The appointment of a Chairman was vital to ensure the club continued to operate in line with Hampshire FA regulations. Without this, fixtures could not have been fulfilled, risking wider league disruption.
Ewan Castle will take on the role of Chairman on a temporary basis until the end of the current season.
During this time, the focus will be on helping the club re-establish clear roles and responsibilities so it can operate efficiently. A permanent appointment will be sought at the end of the season.
Comment from Ventnor RFC:
“With the club’s recent change in personnel, our intention is to help guide Ventnor Football Club back to a position where it can operate independently again.A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure matches can be played. Players also have a responsibility to ensure match fees and subscriptions are paid so the club can function financially. At present, this is not fully in place.
For football to continue at Ventnor, everyone must play their part.”
